Whether you are German or not, Autumn means Oktoberfest and lots of beer, parties and food! Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival which is called a Volksfest or traveling funfair in Germany. The heart of these celebrations are in Munich, Bavaria, Germany where it is often called the Wiesn, after the colloquial name for the fairgrounds (Theresienwiese), but celebrations happen all over the world. Celebrations start in mid September and run through to October in Munich, however, in other places of the world, it is generally celebrated in October. This cookbook captures the more traditional German dishes made for the festival and for German food enthusiasts.
