As an apprentice to the Tyson Brothers, who were Gettysburg photographers, William H. Tipton began photographing the Gettysburg Battlefield as early as July 14, 1863. In 1880, Tipton became the sole owner of the studio, and by 1888 he claimed to have over 5,000 battlefield views and 100,000 portrait negatives. The views in this volume are just a fraction of those in the collections of the Adams County Historical Society. Used Book in Good Condition

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
