This guide contains over 1,500 codes for identifying Gibson USA solid-body electric guitars from early appearances (around early 1990's) until 2023. The model in Gibson guitars is a code written in the "Pre-pack Checklist" that identifies which guitar you have in your hands and it is shown along with the serial number. When the serial matches the guitar you have in your hands, you are able to identify the guitar and its basic specs, regardless of it having being modified. This is especially useful for identifying guitars that have very similar specs to other models, i.e. Standards, Classics, Traditionals, etc. These codes can be found, partially, in the pickup cavities as well, and are other ways to identifying the guitar model even when the "Pre-pack Checklist" is not available.
