This volume, consisting of eighteen discourses by Osho on Adhyaya 4 of the Bhagavad Gita, explores the realm of Knowledge-Action-Renunciation, particularly in connection with traditional practices that have existed in India for thousands of years. Osho helps us rediscover the true essence and meaning of ancient rituals that have formed the foundation of India's cultural and religious heritage for centuries. He suggests that if human beings-regardless of religion or tradition-learned again how to pray and perform religious rituals as desireless actions, as pure acts of surrender, humanity could shift from organized religions to what Osho calls "religiousness," the pure essence of all religions that has been lost through the ages. "Throughout the Gita, Krishna talks about many different paths. That's why the Gita is extraordinary. The Koran is a scripture belonging to one system; there is no mention of other paths. The Bible belongs to one system; there is no mention of other paths. The words of Mahavira describe one system; he does not speak of other paths. Buddha's words relate to one system; he does not mention other paths. But the Gita is extraordinary. If we consider all the systems mankind has developed, we realize that the essence of all of them is included in the Gita." OSHO, also known as Acharya Rajneesh was an Indian mystic, guru and spiritual teacher. He has travelled throughout the india during 1960s as a public speaker. His criticism on politicians and political mind made him controversial. His following has continued even after his death. About the Translators: VAIDEHE VADGAMA and ALVARO RUFFO DELLA SCALETTA have been devotees of Osho for many years. Vaidehe, of Indian origin, met Osho for the first time in 1969 at his residence in Jabalpur, India, when Osho was known as Acharya Rajneesh. She was initiated into Neo-Sannyas by Osho in 1974 and given the spiritual name Ma Yoga Videh. Alvaro met Osho in Mumbai in 1974 and was also initiated into Neo- Sannyas with the spiritual name Swami Chidananda. In the early 1970s, both Vaidehe and Alvaro were personally invited by Osho to live in his Ashram in Pune. From that time until Osho's demise in 1990, they lived with Osho in all his Ashrams/Communes, maintaining a close personal relationship with him and receiving direct guidance regarding their spiritual growth.
