Tailgate Handle Installation

Open the tailgate and disconnect the negative battery terminal (optional but recommended for safety).

Remove the interior tailgate panel by unscrewing the fasteners and gently prying off the trim to access the inner handle mechanism.

Disconnect the handle rods/cables connected to the latch mechanism. Take note of their positions for reinstallation.

Unbolt and remove the broken or old handle from the inside (usually secured with 2–3 bolts).

Install the new handle from the outside of the tailgate, aligning it with the mounting holes.

Secure the new handle using the original bolts from the inside. Tighten securely.

Reconnect the rods or cables to the new handle. Make sure they move freely and properly operate the latch.

Reinstall the interior panel, ensuring all clips and screws are secured.

Test the tailgate handle to ensure smooth operation and proper latch engagement.
