Wooden Table Baking Company took grandma's recipe book from Buenos Aires to Oakland, CA to create a new, gluten-free, version of the traditional dulce de leche filled treat. We kept the natural ingredients, real milk, butter, and sugar, and said "No, Gracias!" to GMOs, preservatives, and artificial flavors. What we ended up with was a light and crisp cornstarch and rice flour shortbread filled with rich and smooth milk caramel, perfect for dipping in hot coffee, topping a bowl of vanilla ice cream, or sharing - if you can bear to part with them! If you do not eat all of these in one sitting, you can refrigerate to keep cool and fresh. Our products are best if consumed immediately as they do not include preservatives, however you can freeze them and enjoy them up to six months later. Our Alfajores put all others to the test!
