Good News on the Frontier was written to be a companion volume to Through the Ages and part of the Covenant Life Curriculum in 1964. It quickly captured the affection of the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination. Even though a much more comprehensive church history, A People Called Cumberland Presbyterian, was published in 1972, many people still look to Good News as an effective overview and easy study. Good News divides the history of the denomination into 13 weekly lessons. When Thomas Hardesty Campbell (1907-1989) wrote Good News on the Frontier in the early 1960s it is unlikely that he imagined that the book would still be in print over forty years later. Good News on the Frontier was written to be a Cumberland Presbyterian companion volume to Through the Ages, the Covenant Life Curriculum course devoted to broader church history. Good News was published in 1964 and quickly captured the affection of Cumberland Presbyterians. Even though a much more comprehensive church history, A People Called Cumberland Presbyterian, appeared in 1972, many people still looked to Good News as an effective overview and easy study. During a ministry that lasted over sixty years, Dr. Thomas H. Campbell served as President and Dean of Memphis Theological Seminary and as a historian for the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination. Some of his other publications include A History of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Texas (1936), Studies in Cumberland Presbyterian History (1944), A People Called Cumberland Presbyterian (1972), A Handbook on New Testament Theology (1973), Arkansas Cumberland Presbyterians (1985), Winds of Doctrine (1989), and For the Building Up of the Church (1995). At the time of his death, Dr. Campbell was writing Why I Am a Cumberland Presbyterian, which remains unfinished. Used Book in Good Condition
