Good squirrel bad squirrel is about the acquisition of a skill set. It is about the ability to distinguish between two things, a “good” squirrel and a “bad” one. Utility and passivity are mutually exclusive. In order to grasp utility, you are barred, mentally, physically, and spiritually, from accepting what happens or what is, without active response or resistance. What am I talking about? You will likely be more familiar with the Cherokee saying--though this sentiment I am sure goes back to the beginning of human history and all ancient cultures have articulated such a thing many times—that we all have two forces at odds inside of us, two wolves, a “good” wolf and a “bad” one. As the legend goes, the one that wins is the one you feed. A quick wiki search will say the origin of this saying is unknown, but let’s give Native American’s the credit here, as they don’t get enough for anything. I grew up around Native American culture in Eastern Washington as a kid and remember thinking during a powwow, that there is more to us than meets the eye. This book is about that suspicion, about our ability to come together and create value itself, to, through honest interactions, distinguish the two wolves (squirrels if you will), and through friendship feed the good one and rest well at night knowing in your bones you have been useful, or at least tried your best to be so to yourself and others.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
