This book, Grace for All: Understanding God's Plan of Salvation , aims to help Evangelical Christians have a better understanding of biblical soteriology or the doctrine of salvation. As a collection of essays, it seeks to offer sound theological responses to questions such as: Does God love all people and desire to save all sinners?, Does God’s sovereignty make Him the author of evil and sin?, Are humans free to respond to the Gospel?, Did God preselect some to salvation and preselect others to damnation?, Do we become born again in order to believe or do we believe in order to become born again?, Did Christ die for all people or did He die only for a chosen few? Our hope is that these theological conversations will allow us to have a fresh understanding of who God is and appreciate the heart of God in redeeming fallen humanity through the finished work of Christ on the cross, as expressed through the message of the Gospel. As one of the voices within the Evangelical Family, this book is aligned with the heritage of the Protestant Reformation — that salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, based on Scriptures alone, for the glory of God alone. Moreover, while we acknowledge the diverse views and different nuances on the topic about the theology of salvation within the wider Body of Christ, this book seeks to extract a common thread in soteriology among Non-Calvinist Evangelical Christians from all theological stripes which includes Provisionists, Molinists, Free Grace, Arminians, Freewill Baptists, General Baptists, Wesleyans, Lutherans, Pentecostals, Methodists, Mennonite, Brethren, Nazarene, Evangelical Free, Anabaptists, Anglicans, and all born again believers who embrace “Whosoever Will” theologies. At the very minimum, Non-Calvinist Evangelical Christians mutually agree that the Gospel is asserting that God actually loves the entire world and that God sincerely desires every person to gain eternal life through Jesus Christ. God offers the free gift of salvation to all sinners and invites all humanity to freely respond in believing faith. The saving grace of God is sincerely offered to every person, not exclusively decreed to a preselected few.
