What is grace and why is it so important that we have a clear understanding of it? More often than not Grace is understood to be another word for mercy. While mercy offers us forgiveness it doesn't empower us to obey, and since we love Jesus for the mercy He has shown us don't we want to obey Him? Grace is God's Power that enables us to obey. If you replace the meaning of God's Grace (Power) for the definition of mercy you are left with something that may look righteous and beautiful on the outside, but does not give you any real power to be righteous or beautiful! Access to God's Power is in a person not a procedure. It's in a relationship not a religion, and the more you experience God's Grace (Power) in your life the more your heart will cry out, "Have your way with me, Lord!"
