Artist and designer Luke Edward Hall, based in London, has taken the design world by storm with his playful, nostalgic, charming, and sophisticated interiors, fabrics, ceramics, furniture, stationery, prints, drawings, and paintings. With a strong belief that his artwork, décor, and interior design convey “happiness and optimism,” whimsical and romantic themes and a bright coluor palette are purposeful hallmarks of the wunderkind’s aesthetic. Before the age of 30, Luke has already collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious creative brands and garnered acclaim from The New York Times, Vogue, and many of the most influential arts, design, and fashion publications. teNeues is proud to debut the exciting, beautiful, and exuberant first monograph of the brilliant Luke Edward Hall. After graduating from the esteemed Central Saint Martins, Luke Edward Hall began his career in interior design before establishing his own studio in 2015, and has since worked across a broad range of art and design commissions and interior design projects. He has expanded his portfolio to design collections of housewares, table linens, ceramics, stationery, embroidered slippers, clothing, and jewellery, and more. Burberry, Liberty London, Svenskt Tenn, Rowing Blazers, Christie’s, and the Royal Academy of London are among his notable clientele. Luke has exhibited his artwork in London and Stockholm and contributed art pieces and his writings to such lauded culture magazines as Cabana, House & Garden, and Pleasure Garden. He is currently a regular columnist for the House & Home section of the Financial Times. www.lukeedwardhall.com As featured in Vogue Magazine's 'Improve Your Living Room with Fall's 15 Best Coffee Table Books'... "This fall, there's a number of new books perfect for those looking to spruce up their space and pique their intellectual curiosity." -Elise Taylor, Vogue, September 2019. Required Reading: "Greco Disco The first monograph of illustrator Luke Edward Hall's whimsical Jean Cocteau-esque drawings." -Charles Curkin, Elle Decor, Point of View, October 2019, Pg. 52. "Whether you know him for his product launches, can't-miss Instagram, or uniquely hilarious design advice column in the Financial Times (seriously, who knew designers were so funny?), Luke Edward Hall is one of the brightest stars of the design scene today. His first book isn't just another slough of pictures of interiors. (Not that the books featured above and below this are!) It reads more like a look into the designer's own diary through a compendium of his drawings, collages, old photographs, and more. While the book does catalogue his previous collaborations and products with everyone from Liberty London to Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm, it isn't really an archive of finished projects so much as hundreds of sparks that will light the designer's fires for future ones." --T.L., Architectural Digest, September 2019. "Drawings of stylish, artful gentlemen; romantic tablescapes; and fashion collaborations with Semaine and Stubbs & Wootton are just some of the results of all that brainstorming. And in Greco Disco, his magical universe--at home and beyond--can be soaked up and enjoyed as a whole. 'Our personal space is an extension of our work,' he says. 'There's no boundary between this and what we make and put out into the world.'- Rebecca Decynski, Domino, October 2019.
