This is the second volume detailing a 13-day cruise down the Nile from Abu Simbel near the border with Sudan to the capital, Cairo. This particular book, part 2, deals with visits to the temple of Horus at Edfu (Idfu), Karnak temple, Luxor temple, the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut, some of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the temple of Horus at Dendara. Needless to say that one could easily spend a full week in Luxor exploring the many temples on the west bank and in the Valley of the Kings besides visiting the famous Luxor Museum. The appendices are designed for those with a special interest in the subject. With 218 photographs and maps, it is hoped that the book may assist those on a self-guided tour to the middle region of the Egyptian Nile valley.
