2.Nipple of the gasket goes towards the outside of the vehicle.it comes with a rubber gasket. Install it with the flare facing out - look at the factory one to see. v 3.if your fingers are too big to depress all of the tabs to remove the original cover, you can use a flat head screwdriver tip to depress them while pulling on the lip. Getting the gasket seal over the metal gas nozzle takes some effort as you have to muscle it in place.
