This kebab jug is ideal for the traditional Turkish Testi kebab, but you can also easily make your own recipes. Prepared meat or chicken is placed in the jug with chopped eggplant, carrots, and potatoes. The mouth is closed with aluminum foil or dough in an airtight manner and baked in the oven.

In the traditional Testi kebab, the jug is broken by hitting the scarred part with a large knife or hammer. The food is brought out. However, you are not obliged to do this. You may try to pour the meal without breaking the jug if you would like to.

We recommend you use the clay cooking pot, especially in the oven cooking. Prepare your meals and cook slowly in increasing heat for about 1 hour. So we recommend you not to use this clay on the stovetop (directly on a fire). Keeps the food sizzling and hot while eating.

How to prepare Testi Kebap?

  • Chop the tomatoes (16 oz) you peeled and the green peppers (6 pcs) that you removed the seeds from.
  • After removing the skins of the shallots and garlic, leave them whole. Mix the vegetables to which you add salt and pepper with the meat (32 oz).
  • Take 8 oz butter on the bottom of the jug that you wash and drain in plenty of water.
  • Fill the jug with the meat and vegetable mixture blended with spices. Add 8 oz butter that you cut into small pieces on the top.
  • Cover the jug with bread dough and let the meat and vegetables cook in their own steam.
  • Cook the dish in the oven for about 90 minutes.
  • After the cooking process, take the kebab in the jug, which you broke from the bone, on the serving plate.
