As to my qualifications, I am not a doctor/psychiatrist or a licensed therapist and this book is not a replacement for treatment or seeking treatment for mental health issues. In fact, I am currently living outside and my major qualifications are life experiences and the reality that homelessness isn’t a breeding ground or bastion for happiness and with that as my living situation somehow I have built both! This book shares my path to happiness which I feel all can learn and grow from! Email this account - tomithyjamisonhappylinks@gmail.com... We lived on a small 12 acre farm (Spring Meadow Farm), and we used land from our neighbors to graze cattle and bail hay each spring and end of summer. The two neighbors on our shared driveway both owned over 100 acres. Our farm would be considered a ‘Gentleman’s Farm’ with it not being my parent's main means of income. My dad worked for the Department of Energy and my mom, once all four of us kids were in school, worked as a high school teacher. I wanted for nothing in terms of food, love, and intellectual nourishment. I was graced to have travelled internationally on trips with my dad's work, youth soccer, and during my 22 year career in tech. As for my siblings, two of us graduated from Ivy League universities with electrical engineering degrees, one a PhD in economics and one a degree in social work. I played division one college soccer and was a four year starter, while enduring an engineering course workload. My junior and senior year we made it to the Elite 8 in the NCAA College Soccer Tournament. I studied a fifth year to get my masters in electrical engineering after using up all my athletic eligibility. I worked in the tech industry from 1997 through 2019 when I lost my job due to some mental health issues related to substance abuse. I faced substance abuse issues as soon as I started consuming them. After losing my job, I couldn’t believe the positive energy I somehow acquired. I was determined not to lose it no matter what my relational, financial or living situation was. The material trappings of a 20+ year tech career obviously deteriorated quickly, but I did not give in to negativity or look backwards or begrudge or blame others. I am happy, I am positive, and this book describes how I did it and continue to do it on my journeys around California, Oregon, and Washington!
