Naomi Pouchie, the author and creator of "The Adventures of Harry and Bobo" children's book series, is a retired New York City elementary school teacher. She is a an Honors Graduate of Mercy College in New York with a BS in Educational Psychology and has been teaching young children for the past 25 years in both the Parochial and the New York City public school systems. As well as serving 12 years as a full time Elementary and Kindergarten Teacher, she also functioned during her teaching career, as an Early Education Literacy and Math Specialist, Assistant Librarian, and Cluster Teacher for Literacy Grades K - 4. Through her experience she has developed the unique ability to see the world through a child's eyes, and therefore can provide young and older readers with a new and enduring dimension to picture book writing. Her hope is to leave behind a legacy of books for children, that will continue to be cherished by each new generation of beginning readers and educators. "The Adventures of Harry and Bobo" Children's Book Series - A Word from the Author It is my great pleasure to share with children, teachers and educators "The Adventures of Harry and Bobo," my children's book series and first published work as an author. The primary purpose of this book series is to help elementary students to learn how to read. One thing that makes my book different than other children's books that I have used in the classroom through out the years, is the use of large reading words and colorful illustrations, which allows the reading experience to be fun and easy for children to enjoy. I have also added to this format the enhancement of simple key words, numbers, rhymes and punctuations that are basic to the development of good reading skills, regardless of age or grade level. During my many read aloud experiences in the classroom, I have had the opportunity like most elementary teachers, to see the world through a child's eyes. Children love bright colors, they love animals and they love stories that are easy to understand but which also have meaningful insights to impart. Thanks to all of those who share in the joy of teaching children to read and write.
