Don’t be fooled by appearances. In the beautifully maintained, well established, and nicely balanced towns of Avon and Simsbury, Connecticut, there lurk all manner of oddities. They live within the residences as well as the businesses, some having contact with regular folks on a weekly or even daily basis. Avon is apparently the site of the oldest human occupation in the Northeastern United States with artifacts being uncovered dating back to 10,000 B.C. That’s a lot of time for “things” to become embedded in everyday life. Robust and thriving businesses abound in Simsbury, particularly nationally renowned inns and restaurants, as well as an international explosives plant. The commonality for these businesses? A history of fire. And guess what else is a commonality in both Avon and Simsbury. Bodies buried in basements. They abound! Behind the scenes are inn owners who never left, continue to oversee their properties, and are not shy about displaying their displeasure. There is an entity that takes the form and voice of the home’s occupants. Ghost children are seen laying on top of sleeping family members. Deceased grandparents still have a place in their children’ and grandchildren’s lives. Come meet them and see how the other half lives!
