C.S. Lewis once said, “You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth or falsehood becomes a matter of life and death to you.” After losing my son to suicide, it became absolutely necessary for me to understand what Sam was experiencing in the heavenly realms. Searching the Scriptures was the only way I knew how to gain reassurance in the reality of heaven. I saw so much more than I ever had before, even though I had read through the Bible repeatedly throughout my Christian life. When I was in despair and needed answers, God opened my eyes and heart to apprehend the truths that are contained in His Word. The goal of this book is to comfort others with the comfort I have been given. The journey of grief should not be taken alone. God has provided His Word and His saints in the Church to help others along a very difficult, but potentially fruitful, pathway of recovering from significant loss.
