The first art book ever released in North America to spotlight the Gunpla model kit artwork of Gundam. For nearly half a century, Mobile Suit Gundam has been revered as Japan’s most iconic mecha anime franchise. Gundam introduced the concept of “real robot” mecha, influencing all mecha anime after it and permeating Japanese entertainment with spectacular animation, manga, video games, and Gunpla model kits. This volume gathers master mechanical artist Hidetaka Tenjin’s illustrations from across the Gundam franchise, with Gunpla box art, blu-ray covers, magazine illustrations, video game artwork and more! Hidetaka Tenjin is a Japanese mecha anime artist, science fiction illustrator, and voice actor. Hidetaka Tenjin works primarily as an illustrator, designer and concept artist and has provided illustrations for model kits ranging from Hasegawa’s MACROSS line to BANDAI SPIRITS’ GUNDAM and STAR WARS lines. In the field of anime, some of his most notable contributions include mechanical art for MACROSS ZERO, MACROSS FRONTIER and AQUARION and the creation of mechanical designs for HELLSING, MACROSS DELTA, KNIGHT’S & MAGIC, SUPER ROBOT WARS T, BACK ARROW and YASUKE. In addition to designing and illustrating, Tenjin is also a professional voice actor, with roles in anime such as Knight’s & Magic, Garo: Vanishing Line, The God of High School, and Jujutsu Kaisen, as well as the Japanese dub voice of Ryder Azadi in Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars: Ahsoka.
