About the Performing Artist Los Angeles based Trumpeter Chris Tedesco has distinguished himself as a jazz soloist, studio player, chamber artist, orchestral player, and musician contractor for over three decades. Tedesco’s trumpet can be heard on numerous recordings for Movies, Television, Records and Commercials as well as performing on countless live dates with many of the biggest names in the music business. Chris’s latest CD release is a self-produced jazz project, Chris Tedesco - “Living the Dream”. The music has been recorded in the style of Sinatra & Basie at Capitol records circa 1962. It features eight Big Band tracks as well as two thirty-piece Studio Orchestra tracks. Vocalist Tony Galla, an incredible West Coast mainstay, makes his presence known on 4 tracks and L.A. based trombonist Jim McMillen, exposes his genius to every attentive jazz enthusiast. Tedesco’s movie credits include: the film Burlesque starring Cher and Christina Aguilera, Ironman, Finding Nemo, For Your Consideration, Four Christmas’s, Road to Perdition, Batman Begins, Best in Show, The Mexican. Music was always present in the home since all three children played multiple instruments. Jonathon began studying the piano at age seven and studied privately with a focus on classical literature. At the age of twelve, he supplemented his piano studies by learning to play the trumpet. Although piano was still his main instrument, at seventeen years old, he traveled to Europe to tour and play the trumpet with a nationally recognized ensemble. When it came time for college, family values led him away from the study of music, but after a year of college, Jonathon realized that his interests did not lie elsewhere. Jonathon chose a path that led him to Florida where he continued studying piano and began teaching students of all ages. While in Florida, he played and toured with a local stage band led by Fred Dean, a veteran of the “Big Band” era. After three years, Jonathon auditioned at several world-class institutions and chose the New England Conservatory, in Boston, where his studies included Piano Performance, Music Theory, Piano Pedagogy, and Music History.
