Within Freemasonry, but also within mixed gender Freemasonry, there are many different rituals and most of these rituals keep developing. Can all these rituals be traced back to one source? Not at all! But by the time mixed gender Freemasonry started, there were 175 years of history of Freemasonry proper. A lot of history that also had its influence and there were already many different sources. This book has a look at the first rituals that were used within mixed gender Freemasonry, also called co-Masonry. The ritual of Georges Martin and the ritual of Annie Besant. What were their sources and what rituals developed from these two? When we know more about these histories, does that help us in investigating other rituals? In a way yes. However this book is not a history book of co-Masonry, you will learn a thing or two about this, because it is impossible to trace the history of ritual texts without having a look of the histories of the organisations that use these texts. The two mentioned rituals are dealt with at some length. Other, shorter, case studies are undertaken to give you an idea of how you could go about investigating your own ritual. Let's hope this short book will inspire people to have a look at their own histories.
