This family cookbook is a collection of recipes offered by the descendants and relatives of Lum and Willie Sutton Russell. It was created to celebrate our shared history, heritage, and the meals that have brought us together across generations. My twin sister and I compiled the recipes and stories in this cookbook, Holding Hands, to honor the connections that have been forged for generations, through meals, traditions, memories, and love passed down in every dish.
