This book is not intended to be a “how-to” or a “resource book” on beekeeping. It is meant to be a fun and informative book about beekeeping experiences we have had on our homestead. Otis always played an important role when checking the hives. His favorite spot was to lie under an apple tree where he could see what was going on, but far enough removed to not be in immediate danger of stings. He supervised when removing frames of honey to be harvested by lying near the vehicle. He also kept watch when extracting honey and was available to pick up any dropped biscuits during the tasting process. We enjoy our bees and find them fascinating creatures. Writing this book was an attempt to share a little of our bee knowledge while keeping the memory of Otis alive. Hope you enjoy it!
