Hope for Chattanooga is an ensemble homecoming story about a group of friends returning to their Southern roots for a last chance at reconciliation. Their arrival on the eve of destruction of a beloved landmark leads to the upheaval of the tight-knit community told by a colorful cast of Southern delights. When thirty-eight-year-old environmental activist, Clint Carter, gets a phone call in his hospital room in the Philippines from his estranged mother, Tia, begging him to take on a rescue mission closer to home - the beloved Chattanooga Train Station - he’s torn. Then his sister calls asking if his blood type is a match for their mother, who doesn’t yet know she is gravely ill. Now Clint must return to the town that exiled him decades earlier, to fight the bulldozer of greed as well as prejudice. As the excavation of one secret leads to another, no one in Chattanooga will be the same. In a world where shame and blame are readily assigned, and acceptance is often met with resistance, we discover a resonance with the characters' adversities. Following their journey serves as a catalyst, inspiring a yearning for connection and guiding steps toward tangible realities. Shane was raised estranged from his southern family which led him to become a clinical psychotherapist and youth and family specialist. With over four decades of experience in recovery and a dedicated practice in Zen and Yoga, Shane's therapeutic approach is rooted in collaboration and compassion. "Together, we embark on a journey to explore how you can lead a more fulfilling and purposeful life." Drawing inspiration from renowned figures like CG Jung, Marion Woodman, Robert Johnson, Martin Seligman, and Mihaly Csíkszentmihályi, Shane's work is particularly tailored for creative individuals, including artists, filmmakers, writers, and musicians. His first book, ADHD: A Heartful Approach was published in 2018. While studying his masters in Counseling Psych, he worked as a journalist for newspapers and fitness magazines. His passion for the creative arts grew when he wrote and staged the musical theater production of Being Poz: The Musical, which ran for 2 years in Los Angeles. All this resulted in the newest book synopsis "Hope for Chattanooga." Shane is presently immersed in regenerative farming education, aspiring to transform his Midwest Cobden Cottage into a nonprofit dedicated to holistic healing — from the soil to the individual. Envisioned as a multifaceted space, this initiative will encompass retreats, educational courses, farming activities, community gatherings, and a special emphasis on ecopsychology.
