And the disciples (of Jesus Christ) were called Christians first in Antioch . Having faith Jesus is the Messiah or Christ and is the Son of God and our pathway to eternal salvation is Christianity. The activities and celebrations we have, to express our faith, is our religion(s), the Christian religion. In the Old Testament God gave His Hebrew people specific observances, festival, and rituals for them to follow to show their faith in, and covenants with, Him. Other than the communion ordinance (bread and wine) there were not specific observances given to express Christian faith. Yet, we have holidays and many traditions that we follow in the name of Christianity. Where did they come from? Are they founded on scriptural principles? Would God be pleased? The Roman Empire accepted Christianity as an official religion 300 years after Jesus’ earthly ministry. But they were the ones in power. How did they exert their authority over Christian religious activities? Much of what we do today started with them. This work looks at some of the things we do in the name of Christianity that are a direct result of Roman influence. The question to be answered is, is it ok to continue or should we repent
