Radhakrishnan's novel is very well written and it is a beautifulmeld of romance and adventure, a story that reflects the reality ofmodern-day couples in situations where a husband or wife has to leave in search of greener pastures. The narrative is filled with social andcultural commentaries that allow readers glimpses of Indian traditionsand life. For instance, talking about marriage, the author offersinsight: "In an arranged marriage, the parents of both the boy and thegirl sought out compatible horoscopes for prospective matches fromfamilies of the same religion, similar caste, and equal economicstandard." The narrative voice is strong and the writing confident, andthe phraseology is unique.
