Filled with emotional personal experience and insight into how to connect with your equine pal. Using different forms of language to connect such as verbal, body/sign language, sounds. As well as skill sets learned from training techniques for competing with your companion and how it further can bond the two of you. It expresses that the bonding technique works in a greater more loving way to train and work with your equine buddy. The book is well written and simplistic enough to follow and understand for even a beginner horse owner. Facts and links are provided with the book to give additional insight and visuals to assist the reader's understanding of specific points. Though the book is considered fiction it reads like a nonfiction bio of the author's personal experiences, training, lessons, and knowledge of many tried competitions and more. My favorite parts of this book were the stories of her bonding with the horses, as well as the stories of Belle and Red. There was such sorrow and a sweet ending to the story of Belle. The story of Red needing short bursts of wildness, before his calm, love it! There is so much heart, warmth, and love in the bonding training that it's not all touching but beautiful. Definitely a book to read to work with your horse(s), they're worthy of this type of commitment from their owners. ~ Sonya Jones ★ ★★★★ Lighthearted yet informative book! Recommending it for all newbies and beyond! I must say, this is the first nonfiction book I have read so far this year, and I truly struggled to put it down. It was a joy to read and I really must thank the author for writing this and putting it on Kindle Unlimited! What on God's green earth is skijoring and why have I never heard of it before? Lots of good information on the variety of equine activities! Honestly, I think I could read an entire book consisting of anecdotes and stories from your horses and life. Those were my favorite parts of the book. While the rest of it was informative and well written my favorite parts were the stories hidden within. It brought back memories of my own experiences with animals, as well as a certain nostalgia for reading James Herriot's books. ~ Shiyera ★★★★★ Great, Informative, Fun Read! The book is very informative, even for a novice like me. It has a lot of information, but not overwhelming, and is written in a way that even the most inexperienced 'horse person can understand. I loved it and you will too! ~ Brandy ★★★★★ Informative and Heartwarming! It is very easy to follow and informative for novice horse owners. This is a great book for a first-time horse owner or someone who is interested in getting started in equestrianism. The description of the different sports is helpful for narrowing down one's interests. I found the most helpful information was how to develop a relationship with your horse, specifically spending time together and talking to your horse. ~Anna ★★★★★ A great read for beginners! I enjoyed reading this
