"I Love Frida" coloring book was inspired by the famous Mexican Artist - Frida Kahlo - who is known for her numerous self-portraits, which openly portray her suffering and sadness. Her physically challenging life was one of courage and dignity. By daily wearing the indigenous fashion of her heritage, she promoted the beauty of Mexican culture throughout the world. Her strong example is a lesson to women everywhere to create a life that is uniquely their own. I have used her art as my "muse" to work from, to add to, to change. And have added wise knowledge phrases to accompany each illustration. All the brush strokes and paint globs are a natural occurrence while I painted with a brush on fabric.
