My name is Winsor Smith and I'm a long time construction worker and first-time author. After years of habitual drinking, I recently challenged myself to abstain from alcohol for 30 days. During my sober month I took notes every day to highlight the highs and work through the lows. A lot of what I learned over that amount of time stuck with me, like how the power of short term goals fuel momentum and can lead to long term changes. As a member of the blue-collar work force for more than half my life, I searched for firsthand accounts from average people like me looking to regain control of their vices, but I couldn't find anything that I related to. It felt like every expert out there had never walked a mile in my shoes. That inspired me to write this book directly from my notes - from one "Joe 6 Pack" to another. My goal is to motivate anyone looking to make a change by sharing what I took away from my experience. My hope is that the reader can take some of what I learned and adapt it to their lifestyle and help achieve their goals!
