Joe Owen, Seagrove, N.C. Master Potter (1910-1986), is an oral history text consisting of interviews and stories from family, friends, and customers who knew him. One interviewee personally worked directly with Joe and recounts some previously unknown information. Author Philip Burrow, who was raised in sight of Joe's shop and home, also weaves in the story of his own family's long-time, neighborly friendship with the Owen family for two generations. Pictures of Joe's family, including brother potters Ben Owen Sr. and Charlie Owen and nephew Wade Owen, are included.
