One day, while outside, I noticed two very different spider webs. One was very messy, while the other was beautifully made. This inspired me to write this book. I also am a preschool teacher who loves working at a private school in Santa Barbara, California. I wanted to use this book to show my appreciation of the school. Joe is named after my own brother, whom we used to call lazy Joe growing up. Ms. Ana, Joe’s mother is the awesome director of the preschool. In the story, Joe visits his friends trying to get them to do his dirty work of making his home. Each friend in this story represents the name of a classroom at the preschool. The school has a committee called PAC which stands for Preschool Advisory Council. Just like Joe the Lazy Spider, the preschoolers have so much fun learning, they don’t even realize they are working.
