This is a beautiful story of a young Cuban named Joe who immigrated to the United States on a raft from Cuba, leaving his family behind. Years later, driven by feelings of guilt, he returns for them—this time using a time machine. In the end, he lives two parallel but very different lives in Miami: In one he becomes a renowned realtor, in the other he ends up as an ex-convict imprisoned for drug trafficking. This story is a tragicomedy that includes political satire and reveals the many different hardships and challenges immigrants face on their journey in search of freedom.
