At Tattersall Prison, a max-lock for the baddest of the bad, a fireball from the sky turns the night shift into a nightmare ― trapping guards and cons on the inside, cops on the outside, and escapees in-between… all of them threatened by a hideous alien invader which needs nice, warm human bodies in which to incubate. Now the clock is ticking and there’s an invasion to be stopped. David J. Schow is a multiple-award-winning West Coast writer. The latest of his ten novels is a hardboiled extravaganza called The Big Crush. The newest of his ten short story collections is a greatest hits anniversary compendium titled DJStories. He has been a contributor to Storm King Comics’ John Carpenter’s Tales for a Halloween Night since its very first issue. In 2018 Storm King released his five-issue series, John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction: THE STANDOFF, followed in 2021 by the eight-issue series John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction: HELL. He’s written extensively for film (The Crow, Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, The Hills Run Red) and television (Masters of Horror, Mob City, Creepshow). His nonfiction works include The Outer Limits Companion, The Art of Drew Struzan and The Outer Limits at 50. Andres Esparza, originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, is a fan of comics, video games, and science fiction, horror and fantasy movies.  He has eighteen years of experience in the comic industry, from working with local independent publications to international publications such as 1First Comics, Zenescope, Z2 Comics, and Double Take. Projects include Mundo Diablo, a comic spinoff of the Netflix hit Diablero for Heavy Metal Magazine, and John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction: VAULT, John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction: THE STANDOFF and John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction: HELL for Storm King Comics. He also works with video game studios such as CgBot, Amber Studio and Capio Technologies. He is an amateur musician (quite amateur) and basketball player (zero jump), and is happily married.  Working on what he loves the most is a dream come true. SERGIO MARTINEZ was born on a boring night, in a boring city, and as a bored child all he did was draw. As a teenager, he took a comic drawing class, which is where he first met Andres Esparza. But it all stopped there. He followed a different boring career and suddenly it was too much boredom to bear, so he changed paths and erolled in art school. Since graduating, he’s had the pleasure of working in animation, as a concept artist for video games, and in comics... all the nerdy stuff he lives for. His first big hit in comics was working for Graphikslava Studio, where he reconnected with Esparza who invited him to do a color test for Sandy King and John Carpenter’s Storm King Comics. Together they’ve worked on three projects for Storm King: Vault, The Standoff, and Hell. He’s contributed to projects for Marvel Comics, IDW Publishing, Bioware, and Infinity Ward. He’s still learning a lot, still meeting amazing people, and hoping life stays like that.
