I've been a multi-media artist for many years, and my friends and family kept insisting that I create a coloring book. I've read articles about the therapeutic nature of coloring books, so it is fantastic they are becoming so wide-spread; I think everyone could use more meditative time, a chance to sit and go with the creative flow. I found myself in a similar state while making this book--the ideas about what to draw just came to me. The entire process was easier than expected. I'm the type of artist who delves completely into a project, so night after night I kept producing tons of black and white art for this book. I hope others find the same joy I did while creating it! April Bauguess lives among the hills in the gorgeous southern Oregon valley with her husband Drew, dog Sequoia, and cat Juxta; she and her husband moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to be more immersed in the inspirational nature surrounding Oregon--choosing this place after a road trip across the United States. April works as a high school Language Arts teacher, using most of her free time creating art and gardening. April and Drew love and live in their sanctuary called the Bauguess Bungalow, traveling at times--mostly to dance their hearts out at concerts, but usually content to be together at home.
