"Rylan made me feel like things were possible. Like I was possible, and he was possible, and we could be possible together." Kinley is content tending her apple orchard, until a chance meeting with a childhood friend changes her priorities. Spending time with nobility is not socially acceptable, but Rylan rejects the norm. He pursues her with an easygoing charm, though she doesn’t dare hope that their relationship will be a reality. When Kinley’s livelihood is threatened, any thoughts of a relationship are set aside as she’s thrust into Rylan’s world, where commoners and nobility don’t mix. The Rylan she encounters there is not the quirky and carefree friend she thought she knew. Can she trust what her heart has told her and believe in him, or will she be forced to accept that her dreams are only that—dreams? This sweet, clean romance is the 5th in the Dalthia series, but can be read as a stand alone. Fans of historical fantasy will enjoy this wholesome story of growing up, growing wiser and learning to trust your heart instead of trusting the rumors around you--even if your man has a secret of two. Not quite historical, but not quite fantasy, this inspirational fairy-tale-without-the-fairies gives a nod to the medieval, a wink to the renaissance and blows a kiss to teens, tweens, young adults and women who love stories set in kingdoms and castles. Annette K. Larsen is one of the popular sweet romance authors of recent years. Writing for teen and tween girls, young adults, and women alike, her books can be shared from mother to daughter to grandmother. Any book of hers would be a great gift idea for the book-loving women in your life. Whether she’s writing a historical fantasy series about princesses, or a romantic suspense thriller full of action and adventure, all of her novels have a guaranteed happy ending and plenty of swoon-worthy kisses. "This is a book that adults and YA can all enjoy. Sweet, clean and full of moments where butterflies erupt in your tummy! Love, love, love!" --Aimee (Getting Your Read On)"You can't help but fall in love with the funny, bookish Rylan, who would rather pick apples in an orchard than attend a royal ball." --Stephani Fannin. Goodreads reviewer."Annette's writing style is quick and easy to read, her descriptions and characterizations honest and human and spot on. The pacing never drags, as the characters drive the story along, pulling you and your heartstrings right along with them." --Jana. The-writers-assistant.com"I literally laughed, cried, and smiled like a fool while reading this. I couldn't put it down. " --Taryn. Goodreads reviewer. My first Dalthia book that didn't revolve around one of the princesses. It was certainly a different world to step into, but this friends to lovers romance is one of my favorites. Ever since Just Ella, my protagonists had been getting older, so it was fun to return to the sweet first love story of a teenager struggling to discovery who she is when she's caught between her very common upbringing and her very royal sister-in-law. It's the turn around of Gavin and Ella's story, and I suppose you could argue it's a Cinderella story, but I don't think that does it justice. I love fairy tales as much as the next person, but I hope all my books have a good deal more depth packed into their pages. These clean romance books have been a labor of love. Love for sweet romance books I've read, as well as love for all the other adults, young adults, teens and tween girls out there who want all the kisses, all the glances, all the brushing of fingers, but don't want to deal with the smut.Writing these characters in the first chapters as children was so much fun. Their sweetness and innocence, as well as their wit, seemed to jump out of my head and onto the page with such ease. They are friends first and lovers second, but that doesn't lessen the romantic tension. They have a comedy element, more so than the other in this series.Though Just Ella is still the most popular of the series, I hope that Keeping Kinley will at least come close to the best seller status my first book hit. I don't know if I'll ever return to this series, so for now, this is my last foray into my sort of historical, sort of fantasy, sort of medieval, sort of renaissance, sort of fairy tail world. You can see I have trouble putting these books in a genre. So, whether you pick up the paperback, the Kindle ebook, or borrow it for free on KindleUnlimited, I hope the kisses make you swoon, and the hero makes you sigh. I was born in Utah, but migrated to Arizona, Missouri, and Virginia before settling in Idaho. Though I dabbled in writing throughout school, being an author seemed like an unattainable dream. It took me seven years to write my first book, Just Ella. During that time, I taught myself how to write a novel. Not the most time effective method, but it gave me an education I wouldn't have received from a class or a how-to book. Something about the struggle of writing withou
