Honora Finkelstein’s poetry is an outgrowth of her life-long desire to examine, understand, and communicate ideas about the spectrum of human relationships and emotions. In her personal relationships with both men and women, she has come to understand that life’s lessons are easier to learn in interaction with others, especially when we choose to respect the beauty, worthiness, and sacredness of all human life.Kundalini Rising is a series of poems that acknowledge, through paying tribute to the ideas from Hinduism of reincarnation and the raising of energy through the physical chakras, that all humanity is striving toward higher consciousness, no matter how caught individuals may sometimes be in day-to-day existence. Pain and grief are often realities, but so are occasional joy and laughter. So she offers these poems as her way of saying to all she has met or is still to meet on life’s path, “Namaste.”
