Brandon; a very handsome and young white estate agent from a very rich family in London falls in love with Mandy; a young and beautiful black woman who has come from South Africa to work as a nurse in London. While Brandon’s rich family members initially love Mandy and treat her as part of the family, they decide to persuade Patricia; Brandon’s beautiful white personal assistant to secretly fall in love with him right under the nose of Mandy with whom the young man is madly in love because the family cannot afford to allow him to marry a black woman who will tarnish their lineage. They then convince Brandon to break up with Mandy in order to marry his personal assistant. To achieve this, the parents promise Brandon a handsome legacy that can only be made available once he is married to Patricia and has at least one child with her. Brandon unwillingly yields and proposes love to Patricia who has eagerly been waiting for such a moment. Unwillingly, Brandon informs Mandy, through a text message that he will be getting married to Patricia in fifteen days from the date of sending the text message. In her confusion and emotional turmoil after receiving the embarrassing text message, Mandy meets Gerson; a young and handsome white lawyer who sympathises with her and is willing to help. The two ultimately fall in love with each other and prepare for marriage. While they are in love, Brandon is unhappy with his marriage and tries to stop Mandy and Gerson from being together. He tries to achieve this by seeking help from the underworld where he meets a thirty-five-year-old man called Orion Chen; a chemical engineer of Greek and Chinese descent who has murdered one man in Greece and another in China with impunity. Brandon wants to get Mandy back by killing Gerson but his relationship with Orion entangles him in a web of crime and lies. When he realises that the relationship is unsafe, he wants to quit but Orion forces him not do so lest he kill him. Brandon’s wife finds out, walks out on him and files for divorce. Brandon’s house catches fire while he lands in hospital and later a jail cell. In the midst of the turmoil, Brandon’s mother changes her mind and wants him to divorce Patricia so as to woo Mandy back into his life. This causes Brandon’s mother to contact and fall in love with Orion’s trusted right hand man as she now wants him to kill Brandon’s wife so that he may go back to Mandy. As a result of the relationship, Brandon’s mother, her criminal lover and Orion are killed alongside one another by the police. The news of her death leads to the death of her husband and daughter and the family’s estate is bequeathed to Brandon. As all the drama unfolds, Detective Gavin Cornell-Murphy investigates. Brandon is conditionally acquitted and apologises to Mandy and Gerson for the mess he has caused in their lives. While Brandon feels that he must learn to love Patricia, Mandy feels that she has to build her love for Gerson. Although they still love each other deeply, they each have to live with a person they do not really love. A boat accident claims the lives of both Gerson and Patricia. Although the fatal accident grants Brandon and Mandy new freedom to reunite as lovers, they both feel that they are no longer suitable for each other after what they have gone through. As a sequel to that, Brandon decides to lead his own life and manage all the business assets bequeathed to him while Mandy goes back to South Africa to continue working as a nurse. For two years, Brandon and Mandy do not communicate but desperately yearn for each other. One day, when Mandy has just returned from work, she learns that there is a surprise visitor. When she finds out that the surprise visitor is Brandon, who says that he has flown from London to South Africa just to ask for marriage, Mandy crazily flings herself into his arms and the two cry together. In a few months, Brandon and Mandy get married.
