*WINNER!* FIREBIRD BOOK AWARD—(HISTORICAL ROMANCE) Q4—2025 Is Love Life’s Greatest Legacy—Or A Dangerous Illusion Of The Heart? England, 1956. Sworn-bachelor Dane Wellington has spent his life believing desire—not love—is what drives men to marry. But when he discovers that his father's well-meaning but impoverished tenants have pressured their daughter, Katie, to choose security over love via marriage to a wealthy brute, he feels compelled to act. His proposal comes with rigid terms: secrecy, no consummation, and an expiration date. Katie Clarke, relieved that salvation has arrived, sees a new life full of endless possibilities, but it will never truly include handsome Dane. True love, the belief that love is life's greatest legacy, is beyond reach. As friendship deepens, mutual heartbreak, unavoidable nights, and aching restraint turn discipline into torment as desire collides with society’s expectations. Dane wants her more than his next breath—yet cannot trust what he feels. Katie aches for the one thing he refuses to give: not safety, not desire, but love unreserved. As the expiration date nears, whether things end as they began may hinge on just three bloody words. Will Dane protect his heart—or love her evermore? Forbidden yearning, soul-deep, and heartbreakingly tender. Love Her Evermore – for fans of slow-burn historical romance, brooding protectors, and heroines who bloom into their own. Katie and Dane's love story is tender, fiery, and filled with heartache in the best possible way. I adored the slow burn, the stolen glances, and the way their relationship unfolded with such tension. The playlist element was a lovely bonus it made the reading experience even more immersive!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Thanks for the ARC review on Pen Pinery"~Anne Shortlived, Goodreads: 5* "This book felt stepping into the most beautiful, dreamy relationship ever, where every little detail came together perfectly. You can really imagine the setting, the people, and the emotion in the air. The family moments were touching and heartfelt, showing how much love surrounded the couple. There's also a gift scene that totally melted my heart, and it's one of those things that makes you think, "Wow, they really know each other." You can tell this day has been a long time coming for them, and the payoff is so satisfying. It's written in a way that makes you feel the closeness without losing the romance in the details. It isn't just about attraction, but about two people who've been through a lot and finally found peace together. The way it ends leaves you with that warm, safe feeling, like you've just witnessed the start of their forever." Dear readers, Having read hundreds of books, I had many stories of my own in my mind. I can't tell you exactly what made me start jotting down my thoughts, but I wrote summaries for several stories. I started with an outline, and then the story and the characters became clearer. I began to envision each of them, and then lived with them in my head for a while, until I was confident enough to write their story. Love Her Evermore is my debut novel, and I am grateful it is being well-received thus far. It took almost two years from the moment I started writing until August 21, 2025, the release date. I never imagined how much work it would take to complete and publish a novel. I know my husband is happy to have me back, as I have not been in our bed before 1 a.m. for the last year! The other stories swimming in my head and outlined are romances too, but only one other is set around this period. Two others are contemporary. Hopefully, they won't take as long to complete. My childhood was filled with war stories, tales of hardship in Europe both before and after the war. My father lived in Poland, Germany, France, and Italy before immigrating to the United States, and although he was uneducated, he spoke seven languages. My 95-year-old mother has filled my head with a lifetime of stories as well. So, I suppose it's no surprise that I am drawn to previous eras, where life was both simpler and harder. I am interested in stories about overcoming obstacles, learning to change perspectives, and looking to the future instead of dwelling on the past. I hope to inspire you through my writing journey and convey the message that nothing is more important in life than love. All my love, Sh
