The only difference between Sharon and the reader is that she is a trained military cop (retired) who carries a gun. She envisions herself as a Travis McGee type of person and continually gets caught up in exciting and interesting challenges that she could turn away from but chooses not to. This tenacity is the most important part of her character but also her potential ruin. Can she still pay her bills if unemployed while challenging an important and rich developer and a horny environmentalist and a mysterious murderer?  We will find out.
