Insurance investigator Sharon O’Mara’s job is sucking her soul dry. Now, after returning from Iraq and the Army’s military police, she is assigned to settle a life insurance claim – a claim that she is certain was not just an accident but a brutal murder. When Detective Kevin Bryan, first saw the wet and bloody body of the man lying in the empty BART parking lot, he too was sure there was more to this killing than the .45 slug through the man's heart. Homicide is never acceptable in the tony eastern suburban bastions of the rich and powerful of the San Francisco Bay area. Was it a land deal gone bad, or his high-end BMW, or his wealth, or his alcoholic wife that led to his murder? O’Mara and Bryan struggle with the insane thought that the man was killed to cover up a bigger crime, a crime of shocking and lurid vengeance and visceral hate . . . Join today the fans of author Gregory C. Randall and Sharon O'Mara and get Book One, Land Swap for Death . This is where the Chronicles of Sharon O’Mara begin. I am sure that if the old man had met Sharon before he went fishing, the story would have had a very different ending. . --Ernest H As the author of this first in a hopefully long series, I have tried to bring to life a woman who, like others, has to deal with the tribulations of life while also trying to hold a job. The only difference between Sharon and the reader is that she is a trained military cop (retired) who carries a gun. She envisions herself as a Travis McGee type of person and continually gets caught up in exciting and interesting challenges that she could turn away from but chooses not to. This tenacity is the most important part of her character but also her potential ruin. Can she still pay her bills if unemployed while challenging an important and rich developer and a horny environmentalist and a mysterious murderer?  We will find out. Sharon O Mara, ex-Army cop, over thirty (but who is counting), tough as nails, smooth in all the right places, and now working for an insurance company that is sucking the life out of her soul; has to face the fact that she is not cut out to okay death benefits not when a man is murdered. Rain, miserable San Francisco Bay Area traffic, a dapper yet shady developer and an oversexed environmentalist all point the wrong way to the reasons a man had to die in a BART parking lot. And she can cook. Gregory C. Randall, Midwesterner by birth, Californian by choice, has lived in the same town, Walnut Creek, as Sharon O Mara for over twenty years. Old enough to be her father, he has enjoyed the chance to share her life with our readers and fans. Greg also enjoys many of the same pursuits and activities that Sharon does, but that only makes sense; the apple does not fall far from the tree. He has been and continues to be a professional landscape architect and city planner involved in many new communities throughout the western United States. Ross Clayburn was one of his clients in fact, Greg taught him to fish from a panga off the coast of Baja, even though Ross adamantly denies this as you would expect. Greg is also working on the next two adventures for Sharon and she is excited to be part of his family. Greg continues to work on non-fiction and fiction and for those interested visit his website gregorycrandall.com. Used Book in Good Condition
