Last Notes of a Non-Native Son is the third of a series addressing the grand issues of national identity within this maelstrom of our dangerously escalating anxieties surrounding planetary survival, collective atonement for past crimes viewed as such within our twenty-first century lens, and the ever-present challenges of racial understanding and harmony under an umbrella of respectfulness for the incredible diversity present in our great country. This installment contains a unique section highlighting major cities of the world. As with the other volumes, the author begins with short articles unified around the themes of personal trials, religious devotion, original sin, and universal love, engaged in their perennial metaphorical (and actual) push and pull with historical “incest,” as it continues on its stalwart march to this very day. The latter parts are heavily weighted towards delivery of text with associated imagery of a striking and provocative nature.
