This is a book for those interested in the sport of race walking, an Olympic event and older than baseball. race walking takes walking to its limit and allows athletes to often walk faster than most people can run. This book is meant for new race walkers and those new or interested in the sport of race walking. It is not a training manual but a way to get started, find out where to get more information, connect with clubs and other walkers, find resources and help, and learn from others' experiences and advice from young and older race walkers, elites, Olympians and coaches. It is focused on the Canadian and US racewalk community and environment but much of the advice and information about the sport can be helpful to anyone. The book contains solid information about the sport, its history, the basics for a new walker, and the experiences of others learning the sport along with advice from young and old racewalkers, elites, Olympians and coaches.
