A legacy is what we are given by others when they leave us. I won the parenting lottery! My Mama’s dreams of becoming a teacher were changed when my grandmother died and she had to leave school to care for her younger siblings, so she became my first teacher. My Papa taught me by actions more than words. My parents loved me unconditionally. I was their only pupil, and they taught me by their example ( per esempio ). As a child, I knew I was lucky, but I truly only realized how lucky when I began serving children and young people as a young pediatric nurse. I encountered children who were raised in families much different from mine. A child views life through what they know; as an adult, I began to see how truly amazing my childhood was—full of love, patience, respect for my personhood, and, most of all, education. This book is for children and trusted adults, to be enjoyed together. My target group is 8 - 12-year-olds, but children younger than 8 will enjoy listening to the stories and learning from the art, and teens will benefit from the lessons about courage, love, choices, determination, integrity, reliability, decency, life, and death, I wrote this book to share my parents’ lessons and to honor them. I have spent over 5 decades modeling their lessons. I invite you to learn from those lessons with me. Ti amo, Mama and Papa!
