Asteri is the son of the nomadic chief of the Trawler-Aven, a group of hunters that subsist off of the Caelumcetacea, the brother of the whale of the seas. Asteri's fate lies on a path far different from the one destined for his tribe. He is marked by the Rift in the sky, but others deem his markings a curse. His golden irises and brand on the back of his neck are the remnants of an ancestry that has been long lost to the flow of time. By order of the ruling King of the Wreath, Marion Golieth V, the Trawler-Aven are struck from the land and their leader taken prisoner, leaving Asteri with one word burned into his mind. Vengeance. On his path he is led into companionship with many unlikely people, from the dwarf Magnnir to the long lost king of Lobos Gaius Sable; his path shall not be traveled alone. This path laid before Asteri is one that brings death, something he has not caused by his own hand. Inside himself, others have seen a beast, lurking behind his golden eyes, one that he fears for its eventual release. Can his will quell the inner storm or will he become the beast that men will fear.
