After over 7 years of creating NHL based content on Flying Fluffy Hockey, and developing one of the most ardent and supportive fanbases that any YouTube channel could ever hope for, I thought it was time to give some context into why I am the way I am. Far from being a "gold watch", our story begins when I am seven years old, and takes the reader on a written and illustrative journey that includes many of the life lessons that I have learned, and how they are applied to the person I am now. This is not a book about being a YouTuber, but rather, it's main focus is on the many difficult situations that life has presented me with, which eventually allowed me to develop the resilience to become one of the hardest working creators in the sports genre. Flying Fluffy Hockey may not be a household name, but that is not for lack of hard work and dedication. Running a channel based on what for years was one of the least popular teams, in the least popular of the four big sports, takes a level of commitment that even I was unaware of. This books gives the details as to why I am so stubbornly optimistic in my approach to the channels success. Simply put, if I quit, I will never know IF Flying Fluffy Hockey could have become a household name. Also, the channel is named after my Saint Bernard, so quitting the channel would almost feel like quitting on him. Fluffy is going to be 11 come June, and is currently laying at my feet, snoring after we just got back from a long walk, while I write the description for a book.. I suppose, that sentence summarizes the book more than anything. It might look from the outside that I am just sitting here putzing on my laptop on a lazy Friday afternoon, but instead I am secretly planning my world domination as the most successful sports YouTuber ever, or something like that. I hope this book gives some context as to why I yell at the camera and play with puppets. And also, I hope sharing some of the things I have been through will give others a small moment of clarity in their own lives, and help them realize that we all go through things, but what separates us, is how we respond to the challenges that life dishes out. I am proud of how I have responded thus far, and this book illustrates that. Enjoy!
