This book follows the life of Christopher Sedgwick Harvey (aka Slats) [March 14, 1963 - March 13, 2010] as a common thread to tie together bands and venues of the 1980s Seattle music scene. Slats was in the bands the Zipdads, the Silly Killers, Itchy Brother, Cheating Death, and Pain Cocktail. However, his fellow bandmates in those bands were also in other bands such as the Cheaters, the Vains, the Fastbacks, and the Accused. One of his most famous bandmates was Duff McKagan, who later joined Guns N' Roses. Slats' bands played shows at Seattle live music venues such as the Gorilla Room, the Showbox Theater, the Metropolis, the Gorilla Gardens, and the Central Tavern, as well as many rented halls of various stripes. Thus, a study of his life ties together all of these bands and venues into one narrative.
