Rhēa Silvia et Rōmulus et Remus is the first of a new beginner-level series of Latin novellas. It follows Rhēa Silvia, the daughter of Numitor the king of Alba Longa, through her father's dethroning to the birth of her sons, Romulus and Remus. Once grown those sons return to their ancestral home to set matters right and then set out to found a new city, Rome. This account is based on the work of the ancient Roman historian Titus Līvius, also called Livy. Written for the beginning learner, the story incudes a limited vocab set used repeatedly to aid in acquisition. Images throughout the text and a comprehensive lexicon at the end of the text aid in comprehension. Look out for the accompanying workbook!
