This book is an attempt to explain to the ordinary church member the corruption of the Christian faith. As Martin Chemnitz said in his Examination of the Council of Trent, "These are the last and mad times of a world grown old" (Part I, p 50). Various causes are discussed in detail. The cure is the efficacy of the Word through the Means of Grace - the Word and Sacraments.
