Life Adventures is a collection of poems, some serious, some more frivolous, written over many years and inspired by personal experiences, news reports, geography, and nature. Some are blessings, and others, especially the love poems, are expressions of gratitude. The poems are accompanied by photographs taken by the author to commemorate relationships, nature walks and travel experiences. Lauren Yoder enjoyed a career teaching French at Davidson College. He was also fortunate to live and work for extended periods in Zaïre, Gabon and Burundi as well as in France. A lover of the outdoors, after retirement he has spent many happy months volunteering in state and national parks and forests. With his wife Sydney, he makes his home in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
