Lionel The Lying Lion is an interactive children's book that tells the tale of a lion who has the impulse to speak falsehoods to all he encounters. The moment he tells a lie, one too many times, he finds out the hard way that his deceit can hurt him. Scanning the QR code, in the front of the book, gives the reader access to Lionel's world through augmented reality and audio narration. The author and artist, Amir Diop, grew up facing the challenges of dyslexia. This inspired him to create a book that could come to life for young readers. Using the neo-savage painting style of which he is the cofounder, he brings layers, patterns, and symbolic dyslexic text, vibrantly to each illustration.
