While nobody can predict the path of someone else’s grief, this book will guide you through the process with simple mindfulness-based exercises to restore mind, body, and spirit. In Living with Grief , an updated edition of Mindfulness and Grief , each chapter focuses on a different aspect of grief, and aims to enable you to honor your loved one’s legacy while continuing your own life’s path. You will find out ways to cope with the pain of loss and embark on a healing journey, through breath and body exercises for feeling overwhelmed or unsteadied by grief to relaxation techniques that will help you to release tension and steady your mind. While Living with Grief is centered around the death of a loved one, the mindfulness practices in the book will also be helpful to readers experiencing other kinds of loss, such as separation, divorce, unemployment, health-related loss, and relocation. Meditation and mindful practice to restore mind, body, and spirit as you deal with the pain of loss. Grief is a natural reaction to loss, and the mourning process can be a difficult and stressful experience. It can leave you feeling emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausted. The ancient Buddhist practice of mindfulness can help you to navigate the path of grief and cope with loss. Heather Stang suggests mindfulness-based meditations and practices that will allow you to tap into your natural resilience, which in turn will help you to learn and grow through your grief journey. Mindfulness enables us to live in the present moment and to examine what we are truly feeling in the here and now. By simply observing our grief as it exists in the present moment, we let go of the need to avoid our pain, and we can rediscover peace and self-compassion. Living with Grief has an easy-to-follow structure, with each chapter focusing on a different aspect of the grief experience. This gentle and practical guide will accompany you on your journey with meditations, mindful movement, and journal prompts. By learning to grieve mindfully, you will be able to reduce your suffering, cope with intense emotions, and rebuild your mind, body, and spirit.
